Big Elevation Gain, Breathtaking Scenery, and Camaraderie: When Ekoï VIPs take on the High Peaks of the Alps

Base Camp: Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, in Savoie. The location is the perfect starting point to consider tackling the most legendary climbs of the [Tour de France]: Galibier, Madeleine, Glandon, Croix de Fer…

By Friday afternoon, an initial group forms, heading towards the switchbacks of Montvernier, a kind of mini [Alpe-d'Huez]. Easily climbed, they were just the prelude to a "small" yet tougher pass, the Col du Chaussy. Enough to temper some enthusiasm…

Saturday is the main course: Glandon, Croix de Fer, Col du Mollard. Each rider climbs at their own pace, never giving up, while others attack on the climb and ride with determination!

Their determination will be rewarded with a visit to the unique museum dedicated to the world-famous...OPINEL. A welcome break for some downtime.

Sunday morning, faces are more apprehensive about the forecasted rain. A quintet decides to embark on the ascent of the Madeleine, an "almost" 2000m climb, while others choose to be more “reasonable,” yet still couldn't avoid the light autumn rain that decided to sprinkle over the weekend.

Ekoï, Supporting Injured Military Personnel

For the past 2 years, Ekoï has been supporting RAID SICUT, an association of injured French military personnel. In Fréjus, about forty were gathered to pedal over 5 consecutive days.

Participants particularly enjoyed interactions with champions Brice Feillu and Stéphane Rossetto, who joined the group on Wednesday.

Commemorative stops were made at the sites of La Motte, dedicated to paratroopers, and Draguignan, at the American cemetery, to pay tribute to fallen soldiers during the Provence landings in August 1944. The atmosphere was a mix of friendliness and solemnity. The cyclists concluded the day with a visit to the showroom.

EXCLUSIVE! Damien, Portrait of an “Ultra” Friendly Cyclist, Ekoï Customer Since 2010!

With his usual friendly demeanor and fit cyclist physique, former racer and now ultra-cyclist Damien Vuillier paid us a visit and granted an exclusive interview.

An experienced rider with nearly 20 years at the Elite level, he has become in less than five years a remarkable ultra-cyclist. Remarkable for his performances (his achievements include successes in the [Race Across France 1000], the [Race Across Belgium], Paris…) and remarkable for his unwavering passion for cycling.

With such a profile, impressive loyalty to the brand (15 years!), and genuine involvement within the VIP community, Ekoï was thrilled to welcome him to its headquarters.

Damien explored the brand's “offices” with interest and exchanged with market leaders and engineers. He participated in the interview-showroom experience…before hopping on the bike for a quick outing.

They Paid Us a Visit...

SIR Bradley Wiggins was present in our headquarters a few days later. Winner (among other titles) of the [Tour de France 2012], retired since 2016, he is now an ambassador for Ekoï in the British market. With his slightly eccentric personality, he sparked a lot of interest among Ekoï staff, resulting in numerous selfies!

Gravel is a discipline on the rise and Ekoï has fully embraced it! That's why they equip the [Wish One] team and are developing a dedicated range. The latest “catch” for the brand is the Australian Gravel Champion Connor Sens (25 years old) who made a quick visit to the Fréjus showroom, just days before the UCI world championship.

He sports Ekoï helmet, glasses, and apparel... Quick introduction!
