25-year-old Baptiste Veistroffer underlined his potential by bagging his first pro win on Stage 2 of the Tour of Oman. A breakaway specialist, the hallmark of his attacking baroudeur profile, he’s nicknamed the “Boar” for his powerful, offensive style. The Lotto Intermarché rider is likened to Thomas De Gendt for his raw power, even if he’s still honing his tactical sense.

« Someone in the staff told me I was stronger than Thomas De Gendt, but not as clever. I’m trying to improve that. », he confides.

On Sunday, he perfectly blended good legs and race smarts, taking a solo win after a breakaway launched right from kilometer zero, kitted out with the EKOÏ R-AERO helmet and S-AERO sunglasses.
