This 55th edition of the Circuit de Wallonie, a long loop around Mont-sur-Marchienne, promised to be particularly hotly contested. Throughout the day, the Cofidis team was attentive in order to control the scenario. Objective:
to ensure that the race ends with a massive sprint so that Christophe Laporte can try his luck.
After having benefited from the valuable work of all of his teammates, the Var sprinter managed to get the better of his opponents in the final meters.

The maple leaf jersey changes shoulders but stays within the same team. Gee just clinched the title of Canadian road race champion, succeeding his teammate Mike Woods. An IPT Double The 199-kilometer race was marked by a decisive breakaway formed by Gee, Hugo Houle, and Luke Valenti, all from the IPT team. Taking advantage of their numerical superiority, Gee and Houle launched several attacks. Gee executed the decisive attack before the fifth and final lap, quickly creating a gap of 1 minute 30 until the finish in St-Georges. Behind, Houle takes the second place.
