Simon Geschke is a German cyclist born on March 13, 1986 in Berlin who is part of the Cofidis team.

Simon Geschke is considered a climber.

In 2007, in the U23 category, as part of the Ked-Bianchi Berlin team, he won a stage in the Ronde de l'Isard and finished third in the German U23 championship.

Simon Geschke's professional career

Simon Geschke became a professional cyclist in 2009 with the Dutch team Skil-Shimano. In his first season, he finished best young rider on the Etoile de Bessèges and participated in his first Tour de France.

In 2011, he obtained his first professional victory by winning a stage of the Critérium International.

In 2012, as part of the Argos-Shimano team, he supported John Degenkolb on the Vuelta during which his teammate won five stages.

In 2014, the German cyclist won the Grand Prix of Argavia Canton in the colors of the Team Giant-Shimano.

In 2015, he scored the biggest win of his career by winning the seventeenth stage of the Tour de France on his own.

In 2017, as part of the Sunweb team, he played a major role in Tom Dumoulin's success during the Giro d'Italia by being one of his main teammates, before helping him to second place in the Tour de France the following year.

In 2019, he joined the CCC World Tour team for two seasons and finished third overall in the Tour Down Under in 2020.

In 2021, he signed a new contract with the French team Cofidis, Solutions Crédits particularly with the aim of supporting Guillaume Martin in the mountains on major tours such as the Tour de France.
