Tim Wellens wins the 2nd stage of tour 06-83

Stage victory and intermediate classifications, Tim Wellens continues his momentum.

"It was certainly not an easy stage but like yesterday I felt really good and with the way the team worked tirelessly it was just a joy to run like that. They brought me to the foot of the Col d'Eze in a perfect way", comments Tim Wellens.

"I started the climb in the ideal position but when Quintana launched his attack, I didn't have an immediate response. I realized that he was going a little too fast and I had to measure my effort to I could possibly catch up a bit later. To be honest, I was struggling on the plateau right after the summit, but when I finally caught up with Quintana, I think I broke his spirits a bit. I don't I knew the finish all too well because I live a few kilometers away, in Monaco."
