NEWS EKOÏ INSIDE #2 February & March 2024

Ekoï and pro cyclists: an unbreakable bond!

The past few weeks have brought a number of visits to Ekoï's head office, demonstrating the special relationship Ekoï has with its top athletes: from Michele Bartoli's Zwift sessions to Spanish champion Carlos Rodriguez's decision to race in Ekoï shoes, not to mention Phil's and Chris's visits and Julien's imminent departure, every day Ekoï strengthens its relationship with the world of cycling. Story and photos inside.

Zwift sessions: Ekoï maks you sweat

Every winter, Ekoï traditionally invites Zwifters to join in the (virtual) company of a brand ambassador. For the session with Michele Bartoli, a fine line-up of Ekoï employees took part in an hour-long ride. And they spared no effort. Here's the proof.

Philippe Gilbert: his thoughts on the PW8

As the most dedicated of you will know, Philippe Gilbert is one of Ekoï's most valuable ambassadors. A friend of the house, as the saying goes. And when it's time to share his expertise on the brand's latest innovations, he's always on the spot. Here, in front of the camera of TOP VELO magazine, he shares his thoughts on the pedal-shoe concept, aka "PW8". It's clear, practical and to the point. In particular, we learn that he's a fan of bakery stops.

Chris Froome: professional and radiant

The British champion radiates a singular aura. Despite his regular visits, we never get bored of receiving him, for he combines, as few athletes do, a high degree of professionalism with a natural sympathy. He selected Ekoï's headquarters as the setting for a promotional event for one of his sponsors. Proof of his confidence and the close relationship he has with the company. Our camera was there, of course.

Exclusivity: Ekoï to expand its ultra range

Present in almost all cycling disciplines, Ekoï has decided to enter the ultra-distance arena. That's why our cameras caught this interview between the lively adventure-seeker Axel Carion, creator of the BikingMan Origine label, and the highly attentive J-C Rattel, founder of Ekoï. Accustomed to "living" long hours on the bike, Axel challenged Ekoï on new issues: resistance of materials in all conditions, increased visibility (a priority for ultra cyclists!), convenience, loading capacity, etc. From all this, we can announce, will come a special long-distance range with different clothing equipment as well as luggage. To be continued...

Carlos Rodriguez, a big name visiting Ekoï! Unseen photos

When he arrives on our premises, the young Spanish champion creates a bit of a surprise. And with good reason: what is he doing here when his team (Ineos Grenadiers) is not sponsored by Ekoï! His presence is easily explained: Ekoï is his choice of footwear! And if he's here, it's precisely to share his feedback with Raphaël, the brand's footwear engineer, and discuss improvements to be made. Yet another illustration of Ekoï's practical and concrete collaboration with the pros.

A little shy, he willingly takes part in the game of signatures (on the showroom's celebrity walls, giant poster, postcards...). We were there to capture these important moments in the history of Ekoï, which for the first time is making its entry into the world of footwear.

The logistics staff from Arkéa-B&B Hôtels at EKOI

As a UCI World Tour team for which Ekoï supplies helmets, eyewear and clothing, the Breton team came to visit us during the Paris-Nice race. The discussion focused on the products developed by Ekoï for riders and future innovations. Here are some exclusive photos from the meeting, providing concrete demonstration of the partnership between the brand and the professional teams.

Absalon: taking on Mount Olympus

And last but not least, we couldn't miss this highly symbolic news: Julien Absalon, Ekoï's prestigious ambassador, will be heading to Athens and Mount Olympus to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his first...Olympic title. In Ekoï, from head to toe.

Photos taken in the starting arena, in the Var town of Fréjus, also home to Ekoï.
