October's inside

You love Ekoï and Ekoï loves you.

Your trust, your loyalty and, let's face it, your passion for the Ekoï brand, are priceless. Every month, as a modest thank you, we'd like to give you an exclusive preview of inside information:  Are you ready for a new episode of the 'Ekoï, in immersive mode' series?

Ekoï, solid as a ROC..d'Azur (October 5-8)

When it comes to the world's premier mountain bike event, its was perfectly understable that Ekoï was well represented

For four days, our teams worked in shifts to provide the best advice to the numerous visitors to our stand. So far, so good.

But what you may not know is that the sales staff at the show were none other than our own staff. Photographer, product managers, order preparers, accountants etc. Swapping their usual roles to be close to our public.

Our ambassador Julien Absalon paid us a visit for a long photo and autograph session. And triallist Aurélien Fontenoy put on a great show, dressed from head to toe in Ekoï including Ekoï jersey & pants. Here’s a small selection of the best Ekoï photos taken during the show.

Ekoï headquarters is a mecca for visitors...

Whether just a courtesy call or for work, the visits of pro cyclists regularly punctuate the weeks at Ekoï HQ, based in Fréjus in the South of France.

Chiapucci

This month, it was a whimsical Claudio Chiappucci who started the ball rolling. ‘El Diablo’ used the opportunity to don jackets from the collection designed in his image. He also discovered the AR14 helmet in his country’s (Italy) colors under the watchful eye of our product manager, Céline.

A few days later, it was the great Christopher Froome who came along for the traditional measuring up. Stéphane, our sponsorship manager, was responsible for collating all the data to create Froomey’s bespoke outfit. Just for you, here are a few never-before-seen shots from the session.

The British champion then moved on to our showroom for an interview with the French daily newspaper, Var-Matin. Clear and open-minded, Chris replied to all the questions, you can read the interview here

INTERVIEW

It was then his Australian teammate Simon Clarke who visited us. On the program: fitting session, discussion with product managers and a specific focus on helmets. Simon is particularly sensitive to the question of safety, so it was natural that he should be interested in the STRADALE helmet featuring Koroyd technology. Our objective was obviously present.

It was then the turn of a 100% Canadian duo, Hugo Houle and Antoine Duchesne that brought to a close this month's chapter of visits. In typical Canadian style, they took the opportunity to add their signatures to the showroom's celebrity wall. If you haven't seen it, here's the video in which these two Canucks give us a little lesson in Quebec-style cycling expressions...in their usual infectious good humor.

Press: portrait of the month.

Some of you may know him, others may have heard of him... but who really is the ‘boss’ of your favorite brand? Who is the guy who founded Ekoï in Roubaix in 2001? And who, passionate about cycling, works so hard every day to make his company and the men and women who work there grow? Who is Jean-Christophe Rattel, some call him J-C? This is the mystery that the journalist from the Var-Matin daily newspaper set out to unravel in a profile interview, you can read it here.
