Disputée dans des conditions météorologiques difficiles, cette 88ème édition de la Flèche Wallonne a été remportée par trois coureurs Ekoï. Le Britannique S.Williams (Israël Premier Tech) s'est montré le plus fort dans la quatrième et dernière ascension du mur d'Huy. A 200 mètres de la ligne, il a attaqué, en costaud. Il devance Kévin Vauquelin de la formation bretonne Arkéa B&B-Hôtels et le Belge Maxime Van Gils (Lotto-Dstny). Ekoï signe son premier triplé de la saison sur une épreuve World Tour et Stephen Williams sa deuxième victoire de l'année après celle décrochée sur le Tour Down Under ! The Australian rider from the Israel Premier-Tech team went solo at the kilometre mark and held off the comeback of Pogacar, who came out a little too late, to win the first stage of the Tour of Catalonia. It was a surprise victory and a masterstroke ! His teammate Stephen Williams completed the podium. A magnificent double for Ekoï! Winner's statement: "With 500 metres to go, I looked around and decided to go for it, but I was surprised that there wasn't a counter-attack"(...) "I looked around with 100 metres to go and couldn't believe it, even at the finish line when I won" (...)

Ethan Vernon (23, Israel-Premier Tech) won the first stage of the Tour des Alpes-Maritimes (2.1) on Saturday in a sprint over 163.8 kilometres from Levens to Antibes/Azur Arena. The Briton finished ahead of Sean Flynn and Vincenzo Albanese (Arkéa-B&B Hôtels). His qualities as a track rider* made it easy for him to overcome his rivals. The stage was marked by the breakaway formed at km49 by Andrea Mifsud (Nice Metropole Côte d'Azur, new Ekoï 2024 team) and South African rider Morne Van Niekerk. "With a headwind, if you go too far out, you crash." Véritable référence du calendrier cycliste professionnel, Paris-Tours est mondialement connue pour ses chemins de vigne ainsi que pour la longueur de son ultime ligne droite. 800 mètres… L’avenue de Grammont sacre la jeunesse et l’explosivité de Riley Sheehan. Tel un vieux briscard, il se place judicieusement dans la roue de ses adversaires. Il sait qu’il n’est qu’un outsider et déchargé de toute pression, il lance véritablement son sprint à moins de 150 mètres de la ligne avant de s’imposer avec un demi vélo d’avance. The dantesque weather conditions of the Arctic Race of Norway 3rd stage put the riders of the peloton under pressure. On the first stage of the Tour of the Czech Republic, the Israeli sprinter Itamar Einhorn won thanks to a lot of work, in particular from his teammate Rick Zabel. For this 110th edition of the Tour de France, four Ekoï teams were on the starting line: Israel Premier-Tech, Arkéa-Samsic, Cofidis and Lotto-Dstny. It didn't take long to see one of them shine. Second stage and the first victory obtained thanks to a masterful look from Victor Lafay (Cofidis), who surprised the strongest by starting at the kilometer to cross the line alone. Enjoyable! The queen stage was very difficult for many riders. While Simon Geschke (Cofidis) suffered from the first kilometers of the Col des Saisies, Victor Lafay was part of the first group of breakaways. The day after the rest day and two days after Mr. Woods' prestigious victory at the top of the Puy de Dôme, the 10th stage promised to be epic: a hilly profile with a succession of difficulties and high temperatures. All promises kept... From the start of the stage, the offensives follow one another and a group of about fifteen cyclists manages to widen a thin gap. We find among others Barguil (Arkéa-Samsic), Pérez (Cofidis), Neilands and Schulz (Israel-Premier Tech). Less than 30 km from the finish, Neilands launched a cold attack in a stifling atmosphere. The Latvian, unleashed, seems to be able to hold on... Unfortunately his lead (40 seconds) melts as much as his five pursuers get along wonderfully. At 3.2 kms from the finish, Krits is finally caught. He offers a nice 4th place to his definitely very prominent team. He logically pockets the fighting price ... Bryan Coquard (COFIDIS) slipped into the first breakaway of the day with one objective in mind: to win the intermediate sprint. Mission accomplished at kilometer 48, he was the fastest and collected 20 points. With 84 points, he is now a solid runner-up to Philipsen.  Belgian Victor Campenaerts (Lotto-Dstny) broke away with Van Aert and Mads Pedersen. They were caught less than 3 kilometers from the top of the Col de Soudet.  Israel Premier-Tech rider Krists Neilands briefly went it alone on the Col d'Ichère.

After the white paths of the Strade Bianche, the cobblestones of Paris-Roubaix and before the vineyard paths of Paris-Tours, fans of spectacular races are impatiently awaiting the 'Ribins' (stone paths) of the Tro Bro Léon. The 204 kilometers of the Breton event were tough and allowed 7 men to compete for victory in the sprint at Lannilis. Arnaud De Lie, winner yesterday and particularly in legs, is untenable in the last 30 kms, but is blown up on the line by Giacomo Nizzolo.
