The PW8 concept: revolutionary
Since clipless pedals appeared 40 years ago, cycling hadn’t seen a true innovation. Patented, the PW8 pedal/shoe concept was developed over more than 4 years with a clear objective: deliver a new concept that’s more efficient, lighter, more aerodynamic, easier to use, and better looking.
These performance gains are achieved thanks to the minimized axle/sole distance of 8 mm coupled with an unmatched contact area of 1500 mm².
4 float options: 0°, 1.5°, 3°, 6°
This leap in performance comes with customizable comfort, thanks to a choice of four angular float options (0°, 1.5°, 3°, and 6°), allowing every rider to maintain optimal pedaling alignment.
PW8, a brand
The two letters PW point to the concept’s key gain: power (= POWER). The number 8 indicates the axle/sole distance in mm (stack height). The shape of the "8" also more abstractly suggests the potentially infinite power generated thanks to PW8.
Ekoï is the first brand to have developed an outsole specifically designed for PW8.

Can PW8 be used for MTB?
- The PW8 system is designed for road and triathlon. Nicolas Roche uses PW8 for gravel, but we don’t recommend it.
Is the model UCI approved?
- Yes, since 9 February 2025. The PW8s are present in UCI races with some riders from the Nice Métropole Côte d'Azur team.
What about settings for cleat positioning?

Is a version with an integrated power meter planned?
- Adding a power meter would negate the low axle proximity advantage (stack height), and thus the PW8 concept. Shimano and SRAM offer cranksets with power meters.
In case of a crash, does the money-back guarantee still apply?
- In the event of a crash, the warranty is not taken into account. The product itself must not be damaged.
Will you make other compatible shoes?
- The C12 shoe is the model used by our professional riders (Valentin Madouas, Richard Carapaz, Carlos Rodriguez...). We are working on a future, more accessible model, without the leather upper, with a composite carbon sole, and without Michelin® lugs.
Are there shoes with tabs for triathlon elastics in this new range?
- Not today. But 2 professional triathletes already use it, including Rudy Van Berg, 3rd at the 2024 Ironman World Championship.
Will other brands be able/willing to offer models?
- 3 renowned brands are interested in the concept and want to develop their own shoe, compatible with the PW8 pedal.
What is a pre-order?
This is a purchase for a product that will be available soon, and which allows you to reserve this product.
Simply follow the usual purchasing process: add the product to your cart, enter your shipping and payment information, then confirm your order.
Upon receipt of the products, your order will be prepared as soon as possible and we will keep you informed by e-mail (please also check your spam mails)

Our return policy allows you to return your products in new condition (unworn, unwashed), with tags attached and in their original packaging within 30 days.
