Essential mountain biking event, the Roc d’Azur gathers thousands of enthusiasts and curious visitors each year in Fréjus for an exceptional weekend featuring competitions, rides, activities, and discoveries at the expo. From the spectacular landscapes of the Massifs des Maures and Esterel to the electrifying atmosphere of its 28,000 m² village hosting 300 exhibitors and 100,000 visitors, the Roc d’Azur offers a unique experience to share with friends or family. Key info about the Roc

When? Every year, early October, the Roc celebrates the end of the mountain biking season.
Where? The village is set up at the François Léotard nature base in Fréjus (83). The events take place in the Massifs des Maures and Esterel.
For how long? The year 2026 marks the 42st edition of the Roc d’Azur.
For whom? The Roc d’Azur is a festival for everyone! 300 brands present, 100,000 visitors including 20,000 mountain bikers participating in various events.

Choosing your event

With nearly 60 events (see the full program) and a multitude of disciplines, Ekoï helps you make your choice:

  • Roc d’Azur CIC: A true monument. The Roc is a 55 km course on the tracks and trails of the Maures massif with 1,275 m of climbing to tackle. The greatest champions compete here every year to close out the season.
  • The Rides (Randos): Green, blue, red, black… or even Azur: in the Maures or Estérel massifs, on classic or electric MTBs, there is something for every taste and level.
  • EKOÏ Cyclo Roc: Three distances (180, 120, and 90 km) to discover the most beautiful mountain passes in the region.
  • DELTA PLUS Xtreme Roc: Take part in the 2 flagship events of the Roc d'Azur CIC: the Roc Marathon and the Roc d'Azur CIC. Prepare yourself for 155 km and 3,955 m of cumulative elevation gain!
  • Roc Marathon: 100 km and 3,680 m of D+. An ultra-demanding long-distance event.
  • CONTINENTAL Gravel Roc: 77.4 km and 1,630 m D+. Rough terrain for gravel purists.
  • Enduroc: 29 km / 950 m D+ with 3 timed stages – classic or assisted versions.
  • Roc Tandems: 32 km for two, to experience the XC adventure as a duo!

The Roc also includes events for the younger ones starting at age 4: Kid Roc, Roc Cadets/Cadettes, Roc Juniors, Roc Light, or Mid Roc.

  

Preparing for the Roc d’Azur: the training plan

The Roc d’Azur offers two training plans depending on your goal: “Challenge Yourself” or “Perform”.
The preparation lasts 14 weeks, with fartlek, endurance, strength, interval training, overspeed… not forgetting the crucial recovery phases!

What gear to bring to the Roc

To ride at the Roc, you'll need a serviced bike and a helmet (mandatory). Properly equipping yourself means choosing the right clothes and protection for the event you're registered in. EKOÏ offers you a dedicated buying guide detailing the various competitions and rides. Helmets, glasses, jerseys, bib shorts or shorts, protections… just follow the guide.

Plan your visit to Fréjus

Opt for cycling to get around if you’re staying near the expo.
Where: Race numbers are picked up at the François Léotard nature base.
When: The day before your race (or up to an hour before if your start is after 10 am).
What: Bring your race confirmation, ID, medical certificate, or license.
Hours: Wednesday 11 am-7 pm, Thursday-Friday 10 am-7 pm, Saturday 10 am-5 pm. No pick-up on Sunday.
