It would help to have some more explanation of the safety features/design on the website,. but this is not a major issue, especially as I am reassured by the pro-teams that use Ekoi equipment. At this point I am happy to have chosen Ekoi -

When the padded insert is inside the helmet, it is a bit tight on my head. It also looks like the helmet does not protect the lower part of the back of my head and this is a major concern to me. I am not sure if I will use it.
